Our mission is to promote the sport of skating clubs in the greater Kansas City area. One of the club's highlights is hosting the annual Skate Kansas City Figure Skating Competition, bringing figure skaters from throughout the country, as well as high level judges from throughout the skating community.
KCFSC member John Coughlin and his pair partner, Caydee Denney won the 2012 U.S. Figure Skating National Championship Pairs event. Denney & Coughlin competed in San Jose, CA, January 22-29, 2012. This is the second National title for both skaters (their first titles were won with different partners). John & Caydee represented Team USA at Four Continents, Feb. 7-12, in Colorado Springs, CO, winning the silver medal! Next up, the World Championships in Nice, France, March 26-April 1, 2012.
Watch an interview by KCTV-5 with John's dad, Mike Coughlin, and former partner, Kelsey Parker!
Thanks to all competitors, coaches, officials and volunteers for attending and supporting Skate KC 2012. We could not have done it without you! Results are now posted on the Skate KC page.
